The RuSSIR school series started in 2007 and has developed into a renowned academic event with solid international participation. The previous RuSSIRs took place in:

• Saint Petersburg (2011 and 2015)
• Yaroslavl (2012)
• Kazan (2013)
• Nizhny Novgorod (2014)
• Saratov (2016)

Each year RuSSIR welcomes about 130 participants. Many prominent researchers taught at RuSSIRs. The school became a platform for informal contacts between Russian and international scientists, students, and industry professionals in the field of information retrieval and related disciplines.
