About

Yekaterinburg is a big modern city, located in the Urals, on the border between Europe and Asia. Yekaterinburg is known for its vibrant music scene and thriving contemporary art. Many IT companies are located here. Yekaterinburg is the home city of Boris Yeltsin, the first president of Russia; the Yeltsin Presidential Center opened in 2015 became a new highlight of the city.

Ural Federal University (UrFU) is one of the top-ranked and largest universities in Russia. UrFU has an old tradition of education and research in computer science; the university’s team has a good record in ACM ICPC series.

How to get to the Venue

If you are arriving at the Koltsovo airport, taxi is the easiest way to get from it to the city. A taxi desk is located in the arrival area, you can pay with a bank card there, a ride to the city center costs about 700 Rubles. A ride with Yandex/Uber taxi costs 300—500 Rubles (there is free wifi in the airport). There are also trains from Koltsovo airport (cheap, but only two trains a day), the Pervomayskaya stop is the closest to school venue.

If you have not arranged accomodation in Yekaterinburg yet, consider staying at the University Guest House, located at Kominterna street 11, 9th floor. Prices start from 650 Rubles per person/night; payments are accepted in cash only.  You can check-in on Sunday evening and Monday morning at any time.
