Funding for European-based students

 

FUNDING FOR EUROPEAN-BASED STUDENTS TO ATTEND RUSSIR 2014

The European Science Foundation ESF has made funding available through the ELIAS network administered by University of Amsterdam, to support student attendance at the Russian Summer School in Information Retrieval (RuSSIR 2014), Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia, 18-22 August 2014.

In order to be considered, students who are based in Europe (particularly the countries that support ELIAS, i.e, Austria, Belgium, Finland, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom) should submit a short application with

  • one paragraph stating the benefit you hope to gain from attending RuSSIR 2014
  • requested support for travel and accommodation (max 800 Euro)
  • the e-mail address of your main academic supervisor, who we will ask to support your case

through the registration form.

Applications will be decided based on scientific merit by the Programme Co-chairs of RuSSIR 2014. Successful applicants will receive the agreed amount of funding after the Summer School on production of original receipts and a short (1 page) report on the benefits of the Summer School for the student.

About the school: RuSSIR school series started in 2007 and has developed into a renowned academic event with solid international participation. The 2014 edition of the school will feature six regular courses as well as keynotes and sponsors' technical talks. Besides core information retrieval topics this year's edition of the school has an additional focus -- information visualization. Participation in the school is free of charge.
